MRL 4
MRL 4 - the universal control system for
machine room less lift facilities
In the lift industry there have rarely been dynamic technical changes similar to
those, which were driven by the machine room less elevator system. In contrast
to developmental steps of the past, the development concepts for machine room
less elevators include almost all lift components from the mechanics to the
drive system technology to the control systems technology.
Kollmorgen Steuerungstechnik Company has developed various custom MRL control
systems concepts over the last few years. Building on this knowledge base,
the MRL4-System was developed. In close accordance with EN81-1/2 A2, both
electro-mechanic and software innovations were incorporated into the product.
A specially designed operating unit within the control cabinet supports all
the necessary functions for passenger release and recurring tests. Software
sequences monitor that the limits predefined by the norm are maintained, and
if necessary generate warning messages. Furthermore, Kollmorgen developed a
special menu for putting the system into operation in accordance with the EN
81-1/2 appendix D testing guidelines. The operator is led through the
individual points of the set-up process and informed about the results of the
individual tests. Extensive documentation, which reflects the particular
testing requirements of machine room less concepts, rounds out the system of
the MRL4. In this way the set-up process of the lift facility is considerably
simplified and accelerated, which has a positive influence on the installation
and testing costs.
MRL4 - is a demand meeting and manufacturer independant solution, that gives
even your company more effectiveness and competitiveness.
