VisualLift Version 1.0.0.14 to 1.0.0.17

This update corrects a potential problem in the visual-lift versions 1.0.0.14 to 1.0.0.17. The archiving and creating backups of the database could not be performed in these releases.

How to install the update
1. Download the zipped update file
2. Unzip the update file
3. Execute the update file with administrator rights

This update ensures the compatibility between VisualLift versions 1.0.0.05 to 1.0.0.09 and the MPK-Controller or DLON
I/O Interface with future program versions (Releases as from autumn 2007).

How to install the update
1. Download the zipped update file
2. Unzip the update file
3. Execute the update file with administrator rights
4. Adapt an activated firewall, if neccessary (see note)
Note
During the update parts of the application are exchanged. Normally executable files (e.g. KLNLift.exe) are exchanged,
which isn't detected by many desktop firewall systems. Thus connection problems can occur after the update.
Please check the firewall settings for these executable files and adapt them manually, if you are using a desktop
firewall system on your PC.

Backup of the VisualLift database
The script creates a backup of VisualLifts configuration data and database.
The backup uses the current directory and the file name "Date Time.backup" for
the database and the file name "Date Time.dat" for configuration data.

How to create a backup
1. Download the zipped script file
2. Unzip the script file
3. Close all running VisualLift clients connected to the VisualLift server.
4. Open a command line and run the script on the VisualLift server:
KlnBackup.cmd
Note:
If you changed the login details (see manual),
you have to provide the respective parameters when calling the script:
KlnBackup.cmd <Database> <UserName> <Password>
Restoring the VisualLift database
The script restores VisualLifts configuration data and database from a backup.
CAUTION: All data on the VisualLift servers will be overwritten irrevokably.

How to restore
1. Download the zipped script file
2. Unzip the script file
3. Close all running VisualLift clients connected to the VisualLift server.
4. Open a command line and run the script on the VisualLift server:
KlnRestore.cmd "Sicherungsdatei"
Example: KlnRestore.cmd "Mo 19.11.2007 12-40.backup"
Note:
If you changed the access data (see manual),
you have to provide the respective parameters when calling the script:
KlnRestore.cmd "BackupFile"
<Database> <UserName> <Password>
Example: KlnRestore.cmd "Mo 19.11.2007 12-40.backup" database Miller Password
The configuration data will automatically be restored with the database.
