The SM A3 subassembly monitors two independent input signals the position of the lift car. If there is a fault (UCM*), the monitoring unit identi? es the loss of at least one input signal and consecutively opens the signaling contact to the brake system. The SMA3 stores the current state of the monitoring unit which is retained even if there is a loss of supply voltage. In addition, the subassembly checks its supply voltage. Safety relays are used in all functions of the subassembly relevant to safety.
